I am a journalist based in London, whose work has appeared in the The Guardian, The Sunday Times Magazine, The Times, Newsweek and The Independent, among others.

I am formerly Deputy Sport Editor of Times Online, a freelance contributor and sub-editor at The Guardian and Observer, and a former poker columnist for The Times. I have an MA in English from St Andrews University (1997) and an MS in journalism from Columbia Journalism School (2007).

I am the author of White Pygmy: Thirty Years in the African Rainforest, a profile of Louis Sarno.
